Last Updated: 12 September 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your membership with 1832 Ltd ("the 1832 Club"), a UK-based business networking organisation. By applying for or maintaining membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms, which form a legally binding agreement between you and the 1832 Club. Please read them carefully.
1. Membership Eligibility and Application
• Membership is open to owners, CEOs, Partners, Sole Traders, Senior Managers and authorised representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the UK, subject to approval by the 1832 Club.
• Applications must be submitted with accurate information. The 1832 Club reserves the right to refuse membership if eligibility criteria are not met or if false information is provided.
• Membership is personal to the individual or business entity and is non-transferable without prior written consent from the 1832 Club.
2. Membership Fees and Payment
• Membership is offered on a monthly or annual basis:
o Monthly Membership: the current membership fee as shown on our website is payable in advance by recurring card payment.
o Annual Membership: Payable in advance at a discounted rate equivalent to 10 months’ fees for a 12-month term.
• Payments must be made via a valid debit or credit card through our secure payment provider. You agree to maintain up-to-date payment details and authorise recurring payments for the selected membership term.
• Fees are non-refundable, including in cases of cancellation or termination, except where required by UK law (e.g., under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance contracts, where applicable).
• The 1832 Club reserves the right to adjust membership fees with 30 days’ written notice. Existing members will not be affected until their next annual renewal.
3. Membership Cancellation
• Members may cancel their membership at any time by providing 30 days’ written notice via email to club@1832.org.uk.
• No refunds will be provided for advance membership fees (monthly or annual) upon cancellation, unless required by applicable UK law.
• The 1832 Club reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or cancel membership if these Terms are not adhered to, including but not limited to non-payment, breach of conduct, or actions contrary to the 1832 Club’s values.
4. Member Conduct and Obligations
As a member, you agree to:
• Treat 1832 Club officers, staff, and fellow members with respect and professionalism in all interactions, whether in person, online, or via other communication channels.
• Act in a manner consistent with the 1832 Club’s values, including integrity, collaboration, and support for SME empowerment, in all communications with Club officers and members.
• Refrain from engaging in conduct that may harm the reputation or operations of the 1832 Club, including discriminatory, abusive, or unlawful behaviour.
• Comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations during Club activities, including those related to lobbying, political funding, and data protection.
5. Club Activities and Benefits
• Membership provides access to local and regional networking events, policy collaboration forums, the ‘Biz Comic’ newsletter, and opportunities to engage with MPs and media personalities, subject to availability.
• The 1832 Club facilitates democratic candidate selection and funding, as well as policy advocacy. Members agree that funds allocated to candidates (50% of membership dues) are distributed at the discretion of the local branch and in accordance with UK electoral laws.
• Benefits are subject to change, and the 1832 Club reserves the right to modify events, services, or perks with reasonable notice.
6. Data Protection and Privacy
• The 1832 Club collects and processes personal data (e.g., name, contact details, payment information) in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
• Your data will be used to manage your membership, process payments, and provide Club services. We may also use it to send you updates, event invitations, and the ‘Biz Comic’ newsletter, unless you opt out.
• We will not share your personal data with third parties except as necessary for Club operations (e.g., payment processors, event organisers) or as required by law.
• For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy, available at www.1832.org.uk/privacy.
7. Intellectual Property
• All materials provided by the 1832 Club, including the ‘Biz Comic’ newsletter, event content, and the “1832 Agenda,” are the intellectual property of the 1832 Club or its licensors.
• Members may not reproduce, distribute, or use Club materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
• Members grant the 1832 Club a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use any content they submit (e.g., policy suggestions) for Club purposes, such as inclusion in the “1832 Agenda.”
8. Liability
• The 1832 Club is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your participation in Club activities, except where such liability cannot be excluded under UK law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
• The 1832 Club does not guarantee specific outcomes from its services, including political influence, candidate success, or business growth, as these depend on external factors.
• Members are responsible for their own actions during Club events and interactions, including compliance with venue rules and applicable laws.
9. Termination
• In addition to cancellation for non-compliance with these Terms, the 1832 Club may terminate membership if:
o You fail to pay membership fees within 14 days of the due date.
o You engage in conduct that violates the 1832 Club’s values or harms its reputation.
o You provide false or misleading information during application or membership.
• Upon termination, access to all Club benefits, events, and materials will cease, and no refunds will be provided.

• Investors supporting the 1832 Club’s mission may join at no cost, subject to approval by the 1832 Club. Investor members are bound by these Terms, except for payment obligations, and may participate in select activities at the 1832 Club’s discretion.
11. Force Majeure
• The 1832 Club is not liable for failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, government restrictions, or technical failures.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
• These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protection laws grant additional rights.
13. Amendments
