Becoming a member of the 1832 Club amplifies the voice of the SME sector within local and national government.
We wish to create unity, prosperity, and success by changing the political landscape.
Up and down the country, local elections and by elections will be taking place over the next three years. Now is the opportunity to build a strong voice for SME’s in the local community and national government.
Help us find good quality candidates and get them into office. Join us to ensure a greater voice for SME’s in politics.
Below tells you how we do this, but the real ingredient is volume. The more members we have, the greater our voice.
- Greater connection to your local MP’s to make them accountable to you, not just the elite.
- Help the local council candidates, that you want to represent you, get elected.
- Give us regular feedback and help us build policy ideas delivered directly to all political parties.
- Monthly social networking with like-minded SME owners who want to effect change.

More about membership
Each month, half of your subscription is donated to your branch’s chosen candidate’s party association. These funds will be used in line with your 1832 branch’s wishes. This idea is to help the candidate get elected. You may alternatively choose to financially support your local MP. At other times, your branch funds can be saved to be used to lobby MP’s. Whatever happens, the choice is by the members at branch level.
Each month, your branch will have a social event for local members to meet, network and share ideas. This is also an opportunity for candidates, councilors and MP’s to meet and hear members views. You will have exclusive access to an online magazine called Biz Comic. This will include current burning issues and political commentary as well as some lighthearted material and requests for feedback on any issues that are impacting your business. Importantly, feedback from the membership forms the basis for analytical research and policy ideas. These will be presented to all parties as well as your local candidate.
Each quarter there are the opportunity for more formal dinners or events where a leading personality from Government, the media or the world of entertainment will address us. This will be open to members and their guests.
